What’s New in uberAgent 2.1
In version 2.1 uberAgent collects detailed ICA, PCoIP and RDP remoting client properties. Yes, that is right, we have added support for VMware Horizon View to our user experience and application performance monitoring product. Read on for more goodness!
Citrix, Microsoft, VMware
uberAgent has always been very good at monitoring virtualized applications and desktops. But this is something many have been waiting for. We now show you in great detail what clients are connecting to a session, their name, OS, remoting client version, screen resolution and much more! And we not only do that for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop (ICA aka HDX), but also for VMware Horizon View (both protocols, PCoIP and RDP) and good old Microsoft RDSH (RDP).
uberAgent also records each session’s connection and app states. The latter (available for Citrix) shows the hidden cost of two (otherwise great) features, session lingering and pre-launch:
Another new chart visualizes which published applications have been used in a session over time:
Plugins are a great way of extending the functionality of an application, but in doing so they sometimes impact performance. uberAgent now helps you diagnose that by reporting the load duration of Outlook plugins:
If you want to mix and match data from different sources, something Splunk is very good at, it helps immensely if common fields like IP addresses have the same names throughout. Splunk encourages that through their common information model.
uberAgent now comes with all the field aliases, tags and eventtypes necessary for Splunk CIM support.
Until now uberAgent was licensed per monitored endpoint, in other words per machine. Version 2.1 adds per-user licensing as a second option. Per-user licensing is attractive if users frequently run desktops or applications on multiple machines concurrently, which often happens with remoting products from companies such as Citrix or VMware.
Per-user licenses are priced the same way client (machine) licenses are.
