This article shows how to check your KNX installation’s topology with the tools provided by ETS. You can run through all the verifications from your desk without having to deal with the physical wiring.

When Splunk displays an orange warning triangle instead of a chart or table it is time to investigate. Start by clicking the triangle to bring up a dialog with the error message. In my case that looked like this:

I was given the Aventail VPN client software to install on a customer’s Windows 7 x64 computer. That failed miserably. Here is what I did to find the root cause of the problem.

Problem Firefox (3.6.13) intermittently freezes. This happens during scrolling, text input, basically everywhere in the user interface, rendering the browser nearly useless. Analysis While browsing amazon.de I created a log of Firefox’s activities by recording system activity for 85 seconds with Sysinternals Process Monitor. I then filtered the log to include only Firefox activities. Clicking on Tools -> Process Activity Summary I got:
